I made it through another week of NaBloPoMo blogging about veterans and silly putty and Blake Shelton and Paris and Thanksgiving decor. Yikes, scattered much? I’m keeping it simple on Sunday. I’m thinking about things during the past week that made me smile.
Like this massive jar of Lincoln Logs I saw at In Retrospect, one of my favorite Fayetteville vintage shops. I think most any tiny trinket or toy looks interesting displayed in a large glass container, don’t you?
Like these vintage postcards I received in the mail from my friend Keisha “just because”. (Check out her blog at Big Pitt Stop.)
Like this old street marker I noticed while walking the dogs. It sits back off the road, back behind the more modern sign, and I’m glad someone thought to leave it.
Like laughing and crafting all night at Shindig Paperie with my friend, Laurie (who blogs at Junque Rethunque). I love that she is real and funny and smart, and that we can moan together about the overall unfairness of being unable to lose even five measly pounds ‘after a certain age’ although we try HARD.
Like this salted caramel apple mini-pie we inhaled last night while being oh so merry and bright and lamenting our inability to lose said five pounds, because really we aren’t too worried about it. Obviously.
I mean, they were mini-pies. And as my husband would point out, they are made with apples. And milk. Milk is healthy.

Yes there are still plenty of things and people to make us smile despite all of the things and people that make us frown. Stay simple and bright and don’t fret over those five pounds.
