The Magic of Teeny Tiny Things

the magic of teeny tiny things

I noticed the most incredible thing a few days ago, something that literally stopped me as I rushed down the porch steps toward the front yard. A teeny tiny viola was happily growing from the brick walkway in front of the house.

A volunteer flower.

Truly a wonder to me, volunteer flowers represent amazing determination as they often grow in less than ideal conditions.

Sunday Letter ~ April 2024

Sunday Letter

Hello Sunday letter friends and happy April to you! April is one of my favorite months for so many reasons. The dogwoods in our neighborhood are in full bloom making a dog walk downright magical. Isn’t it incredible how quickly the world greens up when the right time comes?

Finally, we can spend lots of time in the garden.

Butterflies and bees are back, milkweed is coming up, and although I’ve not yet seen a hummingbird, my feeder is hanging just outside our kitchen window.

My sister’s birthday is this month, so there’s a party in our future. Yay!

Earth Day happens in April too. Of course, everyday is Earth Day at our house.

With so much craziness in the world, April came along just in time. I stop to inhale the familiar fragrance of a deep purple iris and remember there is still plenty of good all around. Because good isn’t loud and rude, sometimes we have to step away from the fray to see it.Continue Reading

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. Will you watch the Super Bowl and/or celebrate Valentine’s Day?

One is an excellent excuse to eat an entire bowl of cheese dip; the other, a pound of chocolate. (Two of the best food groups!) But may I remind you—you don’t need an excuse to enjoy either food. You may, however, need cheese and chocolate to fully enjoy the festivities associated with each—ha.
