Today I am participating in a week of ThanksBlogging with Arkansas Women Bloggers. Today’s challenge is to take a photo of something I am thankful for and enhance it with Pic Monkey.
Highway 140, Mississippi County, Arkansas |
I am thankful to have been raised on a farm,
where I learned the smell and feel of dirt,
where a traffic jam means being stuck behind a tractor.
I breathe it in, hold it inside, take it with me.

“I know the pleasure of pulling up root vegetables. They are solvable mysteries.”
― Novella Carpenter
Keep Manhatten, just give me that Countryside.
Cool Beans, Talya!=)
I love the picture! So cool!
I wasn’t raised on the farm, but we went to the family farm just about every weekend, & now I’m trying to figure out a way to buy me my own! I love farm life!
Stopping by from AWB!
It’s a different life for sure but such a good life. Loved visiting my grandparents on the farm as a child.
Love Arkansas farms!!
beautiful!
You are probably going to make Mississippi County,Arkansas famous one day. When people read your books some day they will say: “I remember her. She was raised on a farm in Arkansas.I think in Mississippi County. Oh, and I think she went to school at Keiser and graduated from Rivercrest. Yeah, I remember her. I think she moved to Dallas……..but she was raised right here in Mississippi County!”
Love the picture and the read. It looks like it was right out in front of the house. thefarmBAT
It was taken between the Keiser turnoff and your house.
I see that sight all the time and I am also thankful for being raised on a farm!
Nice!
LOVE, love, LOVE your photo! I’d love to know what you used to get that effect. I’ll email you;)

thanks Amanda!
Very cool picture. I would love to live on a farm, at least for a little while!
Good for the kiddos!
I love farm pics and this one is very cool!!!
Thank you!
Keep Manhattan, Just give me that countryside! Winner!
That should have been my musical pairing! Duh.
I do love the smell of freshly tilled soil.
🙂
My drive home in the mornings, after taking Claire to school, are some of my very favorites; not because I may have the rest day to myself, but at least 30 minutes. I love to open the sunroof and crack the windows enough for a rowdy breeze but not enough to blow my contacts out. Last week as I turned off of 55N, to my very pleasant surprise, the air smelled of pumpkins! -Just another unexpected delight of farm life and country living! 🙂 I completely understand your love for the smell of the dirt…it keeps our roots intact.
and you live in an amazing place! I love your property and the surrounding area:))
Awesome job on the photo. Looks professional. Do you do book covers?
maybe:)
Love the photo and song pairing!
