Sunday Letter: 02.20.22

Sunday Letter

We have more wintry weather headed our way this week, but spring is just around the corner. 28 days away to be exact. Even if I’d not calculated the time until spring, I would know based on nature’s signs.

Our hellebores are in full bloom. Soon, tiny crocus will line the sidewalk leading to our porch. Tulips have begun peeking through the dried leaves in our beds. I’ve noticed a few sunny dandelions blooming in brittle grass.

But the busy robins? They are surely a harbinger of spring.Continue Reading

Oh yeah, people. Today, the last day of the year, I’m sharing this amazing recipe for stuffed mushrooms so that later when I want to whip up a platter, I can find the recipe here.

Mushroom fans, you need this recipe in your life.

Are you planning a NYE dinner that includes any sort of beef? Stuffed mushrooms would be the perfect accompaniment. Or, if you don’t want to pay today’s expensive prices for beef, you might even serve these stuffed mushrooms as your main course. They are that good.Continue Reading

Sunday Letter: 01.31.2021

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

Well, well, well, here we are at the end of another fast-as-a-freight-train month. Spring really will be here before we know it. I look for it every day.

Yesterday I checked to see if our crocus was blooming, but saw no sign yet. I did notice our tulips are beginning to pop through the soil. Seems early but with February greeting us, I guess it isn’t.

I organized my seed drawer and discovered I collect seeds the way I collect books. Maybe this year I’ll get more of them in the ground.
