Boo! What would Gracie Lee do?

Boo! What would Gracie do?

(source: Buzzfeed)

What would Gracie Lee do? With Halloween only days away, she would spend all afternoon scheming up a costume using items in her closet. A hobo? A witch? Maybe a gypsy?

Gracie Lee has a colorful imagination and uses it to entertain herself. Sometimes it gets her out of tight spots. Sometimes, like that one certain Halloween, her imagination causes big trouble.

Last year, Momma sewed special costumes for Gracie and her little sister, but not this year. This year, Momma is too busy. Momma doesn’t have a teacher job or a job at the bank like the lady who counts money, but she stays plenty busy doing stuff around the house that no one else wants to do. Things like sweeping and cooking supper and hanging laundry on the clothesline. Her biggest job is keeping Daddy happy. That’s full-time work.

But back to Halloween.

Gracie thinks Halloween is one of the neatest holidays mainly because of all the free candy. And pretending to be someone or something besides a farm girl from Arkansas is a nice escape, even if only for one night.

Happy Vintage Halloween

Love the musical pairing! Both the idea and the pairing itself.
