easy like Sunday morning…

August 31, 2014 By Talya Tate Boerner

This Sunday morning I awoke to an easy, pleasant 67 degrees in Fayetteville. Fall sits just over the mountainside, only a few weeks away. Although we haven’t officially moved the bulk of our belongings from Dallas (that will happen in a few weeks too), we have moved enough things that I can settle in and begin enjoying our peaceful new home.

Peaceful in part because we have no television. Yet.

I brought a few plants from my Dallas kitchen windowsill. They seem to love their new sunny spot.

a sunny spot

I’ve met lots of neighbors already including my next door neighbor who drinks wine on her front porch:)

And she gardens.

So far, so good.

Glad you are settling in. The photos of the house are gorgeous. And Fayetteville is a beautiful place to live. The neighbor who likes wine on the front porch is a bonus – I’d get to know her real well!

Do you have a shaded porch to put your outside-in-the-summer, inside-in-the-winter plants? That’s what makes (that and a glass of wine) a front porch so inviting. Any plans for porch parties in your new town?
Attended a great 1-day writers’ conference in Searcy yesterday. xoxo

Yes plenty of shaded porch space! I’ll give you and Dot a tour in October. Next year I hope to attend the Searcy conference.

I never really understood “Easy like a Sunday morning,” once I had children. Here is Sunday morning at our house, “NO! I will NOT go to church!” “No! I will not shower, brush my hair, wash my face.” No! I will not wear that dress, those shoes, pants, any underwear.” “No! I will not stand for the prayer, the peace or the Creed.” Ugh. Sunday is the unholiest day of the week at our house.

Natasha it should be “easy like Sunday morning before we had kids or after the kids go away to college”.

Just love the new house and can’t wait to see it. That porch sitting sounds lovely.

As a displaced Arkansan that spent way to long in Texas, it felt so good to be back home. And kudos for the awesome neighbor!
