What if?

June 14, 2013 By Talya Tate Boerner

GB2: Blog on – Week 108: Writing Prompt:  What if?

I’m scrambling to write a 30,000 word novella for a mid-July deadline. The project must be at least 30,000 words.

The novella is a collection of farm girl stories. It’s what I know. It’s what I lived.

One story per page. 120 pages. 120 stories.

So far I’ve written 26,025 words.

What if…I can’t come up with another 3,975 words of farm stories?

What if…I only lived through 26,025 words of farm girl shenanigans?

What if…I take a break and start back later?

What if- you go over and just can’t stop the flow of stories. What if- they are all so freakin good that they publish ALL of the,?

Or what if you do it just perfectly after a nice little break? Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Your experience has taken you to 26,025 so far, and your imagination, and creativity can pick you up there and bring you the rest of the way…perhaps even further than the 3,975 you need. ๐Ÿ™‚

You can easily do that! ~wrestling in dirt, broken egg, wet animals, animal turd, lost item, early rising, noise, crop circles~ There. Did I remind you of a story?

You did remind me of something with crop circles! Thanks Joyce.
