Happy Labor Day weekend to my Sunday Letter readers.

This year at our house, Labor Day weekend looks like any other weekend. Maybe you have something entertaining on your agenda? If so, please share in the comments so we can all join you. Virtually of course.

Often during this strange year, I’ve longed to be traveling someplace, someplace with a beach or lake or even a swimming hole, someplace different from today’s normal. Back to yesteryear or ahead to a time when life is more settled. Other times, most times, I’m extremely grateful to live in a comfortable home in a safe community, coexisting with both nature and kind people who are trying to change things for the better. Continue Reading

Sunday Letter: 08.23.2020

Hey, hey my Sunday Letter friends,

I’ve been absent the last few Sundays, but I’m back with more random Sunday Letter ramblings. After a week at the lake, I returned home to a butterfly nursery. Our milkweed and spicebush plants are CRAWLING with monarch and spicebush caterpillars. A variety of full-grown butterflies dance around every afternoon (hopefully laying more eggs).

It truly is amazing what a difference a week can make, not only in the physical space we return to, but also in the mental space we occupy.

Well, fall was fun. I hope you didn’t miss it since it only lasted a sum total of six days.

No, really.

I know when our local news channel brings in two weather guys to bring the immediate forecast, and they have removed their suit jackets and rolled up the sleeves of their starched white shirts, things are about to get serious in the weather department.Continue Reading
