Sunday Letter: 04.26.2020

April 26, 2020 By Talya Tate Boerner 7 Comments

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

Hi there! I hope everyone is hanging in there during these crazy times. I’m not gonna lie. A couple of days this week, I thought I might climb the walls. I’ve been inside my head, going a bit mad. I want to go to the lake, travel to see my kids, sit at a table at a restaurant and eat something delicious that doesn’t involve washing the dishes afterward.

I want to take my new book on the road and talk to book clubs and libraries.

Rainy days are especially awful right now. And we’ve been experiencing this monotonous, every other day pattern.

Things I’ve Learned During this Time of Coronavirus

One of the things I’ve learned during this time of coronavirus is it’s okay if we don’t do all the things.

Sleep late. Take a nap. Wear the stretchy pants all day. Eat the dessert. Do nothing at all.

This is an unprecedented time.

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

I hope everyone is doing okay on this Palm Sunday. For me, this last week went by quickly. But March lasted a freakin’ EON. Probably because we are now living in the Twilight Zone.

Yesterday, winter returned to northwest Arkansas. Mid-30s with a cold rain. Um, no thank you. Really, it was like winter said, “You know, you ought to stay inside, grab the Lemon Pledge and give your tabletops a swipe. Maybe do some laundry?”

So I did.

“No moral, no message, no prophetic tract, just a simple statement of fact: for civilization to survive, the human race has to remain civilized.” The Twilight ZoneContinue Reading
