Sunday Letter: 01.26.20

January 26, 2020 By Talya Tate Boerner 5 Comments

Sunday Letter

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

This Sunday Letter has a bit of a reptilian theme. Yes, the topics are a little out there. Where else can you read about Frog and Toad, Godzilla, and Chicken Piccata in the same place? Nowhere. I googled it.

This, of course, begs the question, “What do Godzilla and Frog and Toad eat? Chicken Piccata?” Ha. Not to my knowledge. There’s some talk on the interwebs that Godzilla once ate a Fiat, but the truth is, he spit it out. Godzilla feeds off radiation. Not Italian cars or Italian food.

And Frog and Toad? Well, any true fan knows these friends eat cookies.

Here we go.

Gracie Lee on Arts & Letters!

May 24, 2018 By Talya Tate Boerner 7 Comments

THIS FRIDAY (May 25 at 7:00 p.m. CST), the show I taped in January in Little Rock goes LIVE on NPR’s Arts & Letters.

That’s tomorrow, y’all!

This is such a huge thing for me. And I’d love for you to listen. After all, YOU helped make this happen by being so supporting of The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee. You’ve told your friends about the book, invited me to your book clubs, written Amazon & Goodreads reviews, and basically inspired me to keep plugging away at this writing thing.

Arts & Letters

If you’ve never heard an Arts & Letters show, get ready for a treat. The show is produced by professor Brad Minnick of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is part of KUAR public radio. Arts & Letters highlights arts, humanities, and social sciences, something the world needs more of in spades. Right?

No kidding, the talent generated from such a tiny, rather nondescript studio is absolutely incredible. I witnessed it for myself. I hear it with each episode.

To have my story showcased on Arts & Letters is an honor on par with the first time I saw my book on the shelf at Barnes & Noble or the Fayetteville Public Library.

It’s a pinch-me sort of crazy feeling.Continue Reading

Sunday Letter: 02.11.18

Sunday Letter

Sunday Letter?

Remember when letter writing was a thing? You may be too young to remember, but I do. I religiously wrote letters to my penpal in Australia. When I was away at camp, I wrote letters to Staci and Momma even though I got home before my news. Back home, I wrote letters to the new friends I’d made at camp (friends I would likely never see again). On occasion, my best friends and I even wrote letters. I could look from my bedroom window and see the water tower and stand of trees marking the town where many of them lived. During summer, we may as well have lived in different states.

On this icy Sunday morning in Northwest Arkansas (19 degree as I write), I’m writing a Sunday Letter to you. And if I can stick with it (no promises), this will be a regular Sunday thing each week as a way to recap my writing, my travels, whatever happens to be going on (or not going on). Sort of a “Dear Diary” entry.Continue Reading
