How to Upcycle Christmas Cards

Christmas 2015 is a wrap. I put all my decorations away yesterday, and now my house looks bare. I seriously can’t remember what I had on my dining room table before Christmas. After hauling all the containers back into the garage, I’m left with a stack of pretty Christmas cards from friends and family. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand to toss out Christmas cards. I mean, some have glitter on them. And cute animals.

So today I have a fun, simple craft project for you (good for kids, too). This is my favorite way to upcycle Christmas cards—I repurpose them into gift tags for next year. When Christmas comes around again, you’ll be happy you did this.

Gracie Lre's Instagram Party!

To celebrate December, Gracie Lee is hosting an Instagram party. Of course when Gracie Lee was a kid in the early 1970s, Instagram existed in it’s purest form—as a bulletin board on the bedroom wall. Or a photo album filled with carefully arranged Polaroids.

Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year. From the day the Sears Christmas Catalog arrived in the mail to New Year’s Day, she tried to hold on to the magic of Christmas. It was the one time of year Daddy didn’t seem so grumpy and everyone breathed a little easier.

Plus school was out for three whole weeks.

Decorate with Cotton

A couple of weeks ago, I did a little Thanksgiving decorating using simple things around the house. This week I’m decorating with cotton. As a delta girl, I think cotton is the perfect natural touch for the home. It’s too late to pick it from the fields, so if you missed out or don’t live where cotton is grown, you’ll have to purchase it online or at craft stores. Not quite the real deal, but you’ll get a similar look.
