Happy Sunday to my Sunday Letter readers~
We’ve had a gorgeous fall week here in northwest Arkansas. I hope you’ve had a chance to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather. Over on the other side of the state, the cotton harvest on our farm has ended. Once again I am thankful to be a farm girl from Mississippi County.
Sometimes I think you have to be from a place to fully appreciate it. I also believe leaving a place helps you see the full beauty of it when you return.
Yikes! I can’t believe we are almost halfway into October and I’m just now wrapping up my book reviews for September. I was tempted to skip posting this altogether, but one book I read in September is my absolute favorite so far this year, and I couldn’t not tell you about it. Maybe you’ve already read it? (Sometimes I’m late to the party. It happens a lot…)
Anyway, here we go.
Dear Sunday Letter friends,
After finally getting Bernice out into the world, I’ve tried to regroup and take care of a few things I’ve been putting off. Like getting Betty White (my car) serviced. Like finding a new dentist and doing a little volunteer work at the Headquarters House in Fayetteville (where I earn the bulk of my annual master gardener hours). Like working in my own garden that has been somewhat neglected as of late.
The weather is cool and invigorating right now, but gracious we can’t even buy a rain shower. Without a drop in over 30 days, I’m afraid our anticipated Ozark fall color will be brown and stunted instead of bright and brilliant.
