Southern Giving: Fayetteville Find!

Fayetteville Find - Southern Giving

Northwest Arkansas friends, have you been to Southern Giving? This gift and home decor boutique opened a few months ago. Already, it’s become my go-to place for charming southern gifts. Owner Susie Baker is like a long lost friend. She’s friendly, creative, and has an eye for helping a confused gift giver find that perfect something.

Baker is known for monogramming. Her business started out of her home. When the business took over her home (as home businesses can do), she opened Southern Giving in downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas on the square (just behind Tiny Tim’s Pizza). It’s a tucked away place filled with lots of goodies perfect for Christmas. And yay (!) she focuses on local artisans.

Fayetteville Find: Fox Trot Boutique

August 27, 2015 By Talya Tate Boerner 6 Comments

Fox Trot Boutique, Fayetteville, ArFox Trot Boutique is such an exciting find, y’all! Owner, Carly Rae Overbey, hails from Kentucky and grew up in retail. Her family opened “a store” in 1955 that has evolved into a fine home and garden destination on the banks of the Rockcastle River.  After graduating from University of Kentucky with a degree in Fiber Arts and Textiles, Carly worked five years for J. Peterman Company. (Yes, J. Peterman Company is real and not just a Seinfeld thing.) A position with mega-retailer, Walmart, brought Carly to Northwest Arkansas, but after two years, she was ready to get back to a smaller, local business environment. She opened Fox Trot about a year ago.

I only recently discovered it.Continue Reading

Fayetteville Find: Blackboard Grocery & Eatery

I love everything about Blackboard Grocery & Eatery on Dickson from the cool, urban vibe to the bright open window in front of the sandwich bar. This, my friends, is a true Fayetteville find and definitely something needed in the area.

Fayetteville Find - Blackboard Grocery!

Um, yes, they have breakfast tacos! Take it from someone who recently moved from Dallas, breakfast tacos are sorely underrepresented in Fayetteville. Owner Lycia Shrum hails from Austin, so naturally, she knows a thing or two about building a breakfast taco.Continue Reading
