Lucy and Annabelle go to West Village

January 12, 2018 By Talya Tate Boerner 5 Comments

Lucy and Annabelle go to West Village (Dallas)Lucy and Annabelle’s latest adventure? West Village in Dallas. We spent Christmas in Texas and rented a dog-friendly Airbnb in West Village near our former neighborhood and favorite haunts. We saved lots of money this way. Not only did we enjoy a very cool Uptown apartment for less than the cost of a hotel room, but we were spared the expense of boarding Lucy and Annabelle for five days. Saving money at Christmas is very much appreciated, am I right?

Lucy and Annabelle grew up nearby, but this was their first official visit to trendy West Village.

They had a #BIGWoof time.

We stopped at Chase Bank to do a little banking. They were greeted with doggie treats.

Next, Three Dog Bakery provided doggie sensory overload. They were given samples and, of course, we bought to-go bags of treats for later. True doggie bags.

We stopped in at Lucky Brand to do a little browsing.

Human leashes?

We opted for lunch on the patio at Taco Diner. Although the temperature was cold, outdoor heaters made al fresco dining comfortable. Lucy and Annabelle ate a few chips, noticed other dogs walking by with their people, and stared at birds landing on tables nearby. In other words, they found reason to bark occasionally.

The highlight was Mutt’s Canine Cantina, a place for dogs to play and humans to enjoy a beverage. The on-leash beer patio is open to the public. The off-leash dog park requires a membership. Day passes are available for Uptown visitors. Somehow, we were waved inside with no pass at all. Probably because Lucy and Annabelle are so cute.

Of all the #BigWoof pictures we took, this was the best of the bunch (i.e. both dogs looking at the camera.)

West Village has certainly become a dog-friendly area. Or, maybe it always has been. It’s possible I never noticed or appreciated the area’s pet-friendly features until I looked at things through the eyes of Lucy and Annabelle.

One thing’s for certain—we were grateful to have our girls with us during Christmas.

We go to Dallas often, and I think the whole place is dog friendly. Never saw sooooo many dogs. They were everywhere!

They are so incredibly cute and adorable! I know they were both also grateful to be with you two on Christmas! What I would give to have the companionship of a beloved pet again! But I’m thankful for the short visits I get to spend with our critters. That place sounds so delightful! What great pet parents you are!
