If you have insatiable readers on your gift list, this post is for you (or them). I rounded up five things I believe to be clever and fun that will in some small way enhance your (their) love of reading. Here’s how the math works: 5 Fabulous Gifts for Readers +ย 1 Giveaway = a Merry Early Christmas!???
so what are these
5 Fabulous Gifts for Readers?
Tada.
For the reader who loves to garden, there is no cuter bookmark anywhere. Am I right? These Sprout bookmarks prove the old adage good things come in small packages. LOVE. I’m in love with a bookmark that looks like a soybean sprout. A package of 6 is less than $8.00 at Barnes & Noble. If I could, I’d give every single person a sprout bookmark, and I’d go to sleep tonight convinced the world is a better place.
This library card coffee mug is available for $14.00 in the Amazon Handmade Shop. In particular, I love the stamped dates from the sixties and seventies. Those were my wonder years. And really, each date could serve as a writing prompt. For example: July 13, 1977.ย We’d been at the lake for four days already. We went every summer to celebrate my birthday. This year, my friend Judy Baker went with us. Three days ago, we celebrated my fifteenth birthday with strawberry cake and a sun-warmed watermelon. Soon, we would leave because Momma had to be home on Friday to do the farm payroll. But for now, we had sunburned noses and no worries whatsoever because it was July and we were fifteen.
And the Story Begins Book Club
For the avid reader who likes surprises… how about two new books from the genre of your choosing delivered to your door each month? A monthly subscription is $16.95. I’m curious if anyone belongs to a book of the month book club? There are many, many out there. This one seems well priced and not overwhelming. Yes, I know lots of folks are trying not to add more books to their collections because of space, but here’s how you solve that problem… donate them to Little Free Libraries when you finish reading. There’s probably one in your neighborhood.
Barnes & Noble Collectible Editions
If books were candy, these B&N collectible editions would be the Godiva chocolate truffle version of your favorite classics. You do re-read your favorites, don’t you? Personally, I would love this $10.00 copy of The Secret Garden or Alice in Wonderland. The cover designs of these collectible editions make these both books and home decor. Prices range from $3.99 to $25.00.
It looks cool and burns for 80+ hours. At $24.95 that’s less than 32 cents per hour of time travel to all my favorite libraries. It’s magic, y’all, that vintage musty bookish library smell.
And now for my Christmas Giveaway!
To celebrate reading and the joy of not losing your place in a book, I’m giving away a package of Sprout bookmarks. Contest open to U.S. and Canada. Enter often until contest ends on December 13, 2017.
