I’m gonna be on television! (and other book news to peruse)

March 22, 2016 By Talya Tate Boerner

I'm gonna be on television!I have a bit of book news for you.

Television:

On Tuesday, March 29, I’ll be on the THV11 morning news segment (Little Rock) with my friend Debbie Arnold (Dining with Debbie). We’ll be talking about The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee and cooking up a few of Gracie Lee’s favorite recipes. Fun!

Book Signings:

Be sure to check my author website for book signing dates including several places in Arkansas and Texas. Tell your friends. It would be a bummer to have a zero-people book signing, now wouldn’t it?

Book Festivals:

I’m attending several upcoming book festivals. The very idea of a festival sounds fun, like maybe there will be fresh squeezed lemonade and balloons to go along with the books. Right?

Alabama Book Festival, Montgomery, Alabama (April 23)
Books in Bloom, Eureka Springs, Arkansas (May 15)
Arkansas Writers’ Conference, Little Rock (June 3-4)

If you live in Austin, Texas, you can now find my book at BookPeople. That’s a real thrill for me. BookPeople is the largest independent book store in Texas and a place I can’t not visit when I go to Austin.

Look at it front and center on the best seller table with a BookPeople sticker on it.

Let’s go Clubbing!:

Accidental Salvation has been selected to be read by several book clubs–a few I will be attending in person or via video. As a book clubber, I’m pumped about this. I decided to come up with a few Book Club questions, so if you’re interested in adding The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee to your book club agenda, let me know. Maybe I’ll crash your party:) Especially if there is wine.

What else? Keep the pictures coming of Accidental Salvation out in the wild. Gracie Lee loves to travel.

Loved Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee. Can’t wait for the next one! Can’t believe you wasted all those years in banking, when you should have been writing.

Thank you Donna. I don’t really consider those years to be wasted. I got a lot of good material – haha. Plus, if I hadn’t worked a “real” job, I probably couldn’t afford to be a writer LOL.

Thanks, Lyn. It’s a little nerve-wracking too, but I’m trying not to focus on that.

I knew this was coming! A movie is on the horizon. Mark.My.Words. Just telling you now, I want Melissa McCarthy to play me, CANDI. Thirty years ago I might have said Jenny McCarthy – but time has a way of making things change, eh? Can’t wait to see the show!

haha well Melissa McCarthy can’t play Candi because Candi is only like 13 in the book. Think of a Marcia Brady lookalike.

She’s at the beach, too. I’ll send a picture. I’m thrilled at the buzz over your book. If I was in a book club, we’d read it and invite you to lead the discussion. I’ll see you before long in Little Rock!
