My 1,000th Blog Post: GIVEAWAY and book signing NEWS!

February 6, 2016 By Talya Tate Boerner

That Bookstore in blytheville book signing The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee

News and a Giveaway: Today marks my 1,000th blog post. That’s so crazy to me. I wrote my first post in January 2012 while sitting at the Osceola Public Library. I had recently left my Dallas banking job and was thinking about writing a book. And just so you know, there’s lots of “thinking about writing a book” that occurs before the book actually gets written.

Fast forward to today. I was already planning to blog about my upcoming book signing at That Bookstore in Blytheville when I noticed that yesterday’s play dough post was #999. What perfect serendipity. My #1,000th blog post should be about the book I was “thinking about writing” back when I wrote post #1. So perfect, in fact, that I’ve decided to celebrate with a giveaway. Details of the giveaway can be found at the bottom of this post, but first…

If you live in Northeast Arkansas, the bootheel of Missouri, or simply think the time has come for a road trip, consider attending my first official book event at That Bookstore in Blytheville scheduled for Saturday, February 13 at 1:00. I hope to see lots of school friends, family, teachers, blog readers, people I’ve never met but who know Momma, and complete strangers who will soon become fast friends (I feel certain). Don’t expect a typical book reading. Expect more.

Expect a little something sweet to eat. After all, it will be Valentine’s Day Eve.

Goo Goo Cluster!

Expect a door prize. Maybe two.

door prize at TBIB

Expect a makeshift photo booth because Gracie Lee would take lots of photos.

Expect a trip down memory lane.

Expect to have fun!

If you have a book and want me to sign it, bring it. If you need a book, call That Bookstore in Blytheville to reserve one. Or, just plan to buy one there. If you have a Gracie Lee t-shirt, wear it.

If you need a Gracie Lee t-shirt, buy it here:

Congratulations and thank you for your generosity – I would like the Target card if I win. I lived in both Fayetteville and Springdale, and near the small town of Morrow in Northwest Arkansas, back in the early 1980’s. I returned in 2013 and witnessed such tremendous changes. But I have spent little time in NE Arkansas – if I wasn’t 1400 miles away I may have visited That Bookstore in Blytheville.

      February 6, 2016 at 12:26 pm

Thanks, Alana. Sounds like you know Arkansas pretty well!

I’m torn between Target and AMC. It’s nice to have a free shopping trip, but we hardly go to the movies and with a giftcard, I bet we’d be there more!

    • Talya Tate Boerner says

      February 6, 2016 at 12:27 pm

That’s what I’m thinking, too, Kimberly. Otherwise it’ll be spend on toilet paper – LOL.

Two fabulous milestones: 1000th post and the release of that book you talked about in your first post. The way things have lined up, I know your writing career was simply meant to be, as they say. I’m thinking about a road trip; although as with Fayetteville, I know there will be a crowd of old friend there, so I may wait. I signed up for the door prizes just in case.

Congratulations on your 100th blog post, Talya, and I’d like to take a shot at the $1,000 Bass Pro Shop gift card!!!…or wait!!!…did I get that backwards?…haha…Yeah, I think I did!!! It’s your 1,000 blog, and well, to me, that what’s most important! What an awesome milestone, and it’s a true testament to your amazing creativity and wonderful writing skills! I’m so very proud of you! Also, I can’t promise I’ll be there Saturday, but I’ll try. And if I can’t, then I think I may have a proxy or two in the area who can stand in for me to get my autographed version for me. So, looking forward to the next one thousand, and also reading your “what-I-already-knew-it-would-be” amazing book (though I’m already ready for the audio edition read by Roy Worley…hint, hint…Keiser connection…hint, hint some more…haha). Also, if you need any advice on Gracie Lee’s sister book, I’m here for you…okay?=)
