I had a God week.

October 5, 2015 By Talya Tate Boerner 23 Comments

I had a God week.I try to avoid certain topics on my blog, especially the two biggies that get people all riled up—religion and politics. But today? Today, I’m giving a shout out to God. My higher power. My spiritualism. Because I had a God week‚ an in-your-face, hey-don’t-forget-about-Me sort of God week.

And I’ll tell you why.

That moon. Watching the stunning lunar eclipse filled me with awe beyond the science of it.

Those butterflies. Such an incredible metamorphosis before my eyes. A miracle of life beyond the nature of it.

This season. Fall, in all its spender, brings a renewed spirit. A bountiful harvest. Amazing grace and thankfulness. A nod to the circle of life (cue Lion King music).

beginning of fall

This lady. My aunt. She was strong in her faith. Her passing has reminded me again that our time on this earth with that moon and those butterflies and this season is temporary.

What a beautifully orchestrated world we live in, filled with goodness if we choose to see. I give God all the credit.

Thanks for sharing this. So often we look at the beauty and wonder about us and take it for granted because it’s always there. The times when it hits us in the face are surely blessed. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you, Mrs. B, for not being afraid of using the “G” word. He is great and greatly to be praised. He’s probably waiting to give us more of those moments if we just look for them, “be still and know.” Your aunt was wearing butterflies so you shared another love with her. The photos you posted were amazing. Maybe you can give me lessons at the next HP. Are you going to OCW conference Oct 8-10 in Eureka Springs? I’ll be there to celebrate my birthday. Hopefully with awards!

I never knew about her love of butterflies, but at the funeral I overheard a lady tell someone about how much my aunt had loved butterflies. And the lady was wearing a butterfly necklace that my aunt had given her. I thought that was coincidental. I had already written this post:)

Talya, thanks so much for writing about your God week. Mom would have loved it. I use to love reading your blogs to her – she knew how talented you are and was so proud. She did love butterflies and angels and collected many through the years. Once again – your writing gives me GOOSIES in a good way. Thanks for being with us last w/end. I love you all and our times together. XoxoX
