Lake Signs

June 17, 2015 By Talya Tate Boerner 10 Comments

Happy Hump Day y’all! As I look though the photos I’ve taken while enjoying family time at Lake Norfork, I realize I’ve snapped lots of pics of lake signs. Not sure what that means (if it means anything), other than I like signs that remind me of the lake. Some are handmade, others are vintage, others simply signify a special place.

This is the twig sign that greets us at our little resort. Perfect lake sign!

Lake Signs - Welcome to the Lake

On our front porch. We have a fabulous view—gently sloping and clover-filled that leads to a quiet cove.

view from the screened porch at the lake

When the water at the end of the road means the lake, that’s a great thing.

Road Ends in Water Sign - Lake Signs

A great street name for those lucky enough to live at the lake.

Lake Signs - Dockside Drive

Old vintage sign. Love it!

Lake Signs - Boats for Fishing

After years of being stranded here and there in every remote cove on the lake, we have a glorious new boat. Believe me, we’d gladly “plant one” on ours. (Although she’s not an outboard.)

Is there a theme to the pictures you take? I also take lots of pictures of food and flowers. Especially obvious on my Instagram feed.

Carry on,

I absolutely love your twig sign! If I can clear away the mountain of unfinished jobs awaiting me, I just may steal the idea!!

Love the signs! We have a few at our lake house as well. My theme tends to be of food, flowers, and sports with a few sky photos sprinkled in!

love signs. I collect funny/quirky signs. Misspellings, things that have double meanings, things that are just funny because of their juxtaposition to other things. Love yours….
I think signage is a part of our heritage – there’s something for ANYTHING! I’ve seen a couple books of signs, too.

I’ve often thought a coffee table book of crazy signs would be great. Maybe you should add that to your list??

Loved your signs. I take pictures of signs at the beach and other places. A book of signs would be fun.

It has been there for years. I suspect it is a handmade sign from prior owners of this little resort. Cute, right?
