If My Blog Were An Outfit…

March 18, 2014 By Talya Tate Boerner 22 Comments

Just so we are clear—I am NOT a fashion blogger. Lord no. And if you saw my hot mess closet you’d be shocked.

Okay, here’s my closet…

closet

Oink oink. Pigsty.

When I heard about the linkup “If My Blog Were An Outfit” (hosted by Hairspray and High Heels), I decided it would be fun and something different for me to do. A sort of paper doll / vision board to showcase my (extreme) casual (simple/boring) style.

Let me introduce you to Grace Grits and Gardening sporting her favorite outfit (and accessories)…

If my blog were an outfit

All that’s missing is my face right below the hat, but you get the gist, right?

Some may say, how can a KitchenAid Mixer be part of an outfit?

And to those I say, a KitchenAid Mixer goes with everything. As do gardening gloves. And pearls…

Hmm. My writing blog would of COURSE be a tweed jacket with leather elbows. With jeans. With worn sneakers with white tube socks. And a pipe, but a BUBBLE pipe. And it would wear a serious expression whilst blowing the bubbles.

My more serious blog would look kind of like the stuff John Lennon wore in his hippie phase, but definitely without Yoko Ono. But it would be carrying a book by, like, Spinoza, which it has never actually read.

And my LiveJournal blog would be remarkably like my everyday outfits. Comfy shirts, reasonably non-ragged pants, with headphones on, listening to podcasts about writing. 🙂

Love it! I’m surprised that I don’t see something Razorback related! I must be blind because I don’t see any nail polish that Michelle mentioned.

That’s such a fun idea! I’d have to think really hard on mine…it would be a somewhat eclectic outfit! 🙂
