Faux Hedge, Faux Topiary, Faux Grass…
LA Cool?
I say kudos to anyone who injects money into a derelict, unwanted property, but I wonder how the fake shrubbery will hold up after a couple of brutal Texas summers. Since I took the above picture, the faux hedge between the street and parking lot has been replaced with real plants. Definitely an improvement.
What do you think of this design?

Hmm…I can’t say that it’s aesthetically appealing to me. BUT, I love the concept behind it!
It’s an improvement over what was there:)
Faux hedge, faux topiary, faux grass. I think I have a solution for my parents’ yard. lol
haha maybe so…
We’ve been rolling our eyes and groaning about that building for months now. Had Astro-turf last time I noticed. One of the huge new shrubs is already leaning. And that sculpture, what’s with that?!
I do feel bad for them. I think the intention was good…they just needed better advice.
And they same company seems to be working on another on up Gaston…
I think the (real) trees help soften the whole look. The interiors look pretty nice on-line and I hear occupancy is good. So that helps the neighborhood, right?
A little bit of over kill for me. I love plants and greenery and have no talent in growing them or even keeping them alive. But I don’t care for the fake – er, faux – type. Love the historic neighborhood and love to see it restored. However, kudos for them for doing SOMETHING.
Yes I agree Dot. Kudos for doing something. This developer is very active in the area, owns several rental properties and overall has helped improved East Dallas. I’m just not a fan of this faux greenery that seems to have become their trademark. To each his own I suppose:))
And p.s., although I hate astro turf, my front yard doesn’t look much better. We can’t get anything to grow underneath our huge live oaks…ugh.
