Arkansas: My Happy Place

October 21, 2013 By Talya Tate Boerner 12 Comments

Once I cross the state line into Arkansas (from any direction), I can breathe and think as the pace seems to slow just a notch.

I was born there.

I couldn’t get away fast enough.

I hurry back as often as I can.

Arkansas is where I go to relax, recharge, remember.

I’m headed there today.

Where’s your happy place?

My happy place is at Shores Lake, Arkansas. Camped there with my family all my growing up years, and now we all go together as a big family. I LOVE it!!!

I guess my happy places are all in books. 🙂 I don’t much care where I am as long as I can escape into a book.

I love where I live, going home to Searcy is more about the people than the place. Neighbors change, but friendships have grown deeper. I’m glad you still come back to AR.
