Do-it-yourself Home Remodeling Tip

August 1, 2013 By Talya Tate Boerner

I’m not one to open up my messy drawers and cabinets to the blogger-sphere, but as I spring clean (a few months late…) I thought I’d share this ingenious remodeling tip.
John had the brilliant idea to lay floor tile in the bottom of the cabinets underneath the bathroom sink. Nothing fancy, just cheap white porcelain tile from Home Depot.
One of his best ideas ever.
The tile makes cleaning so easy.
If I ever redo my kitchen cabinets, I’ll lay tile under the kitchen sink too.
Cool, huh?

Inspired! I have tile left over from re-doing a bath and hallway several years ago. Guess what I’m doing this weekend? 🙂

Thanks! I want to do it in my kitchen. Actually, like you said, I want to do it in all my cabinets. So much better than shelf liner!

It is a great idea. Terry’s done something similar in some of our rent houses.

It’s a pain to do, but worth it for the “future” remodel that you ladies will eventually come up with! Bravo John!

I think most people who try to tackle a remodel by doing the work themselves often end up way over their head, and things like electricity and plumbing require the work to be done by a licensed worker.

I totally agree! I would never tackle electricity or plumbing…
