Flaxseed Fruit Yogurt Parfait

May 17, 2013 By Talya Tate Boerner

This is a super healthy, super easy recipe great for breakfast, snack or dessert. Kids will enjoy making (and eating) it too!

Ingredients

Assorted fruit, sliced (whatever is on sale)
Non-fat Greek yogurt (very low calorie – only 16 calories a tablespoon!)
slivered raw almonds
toasted flaxseed
honey (optional)

In a bowl or parfait glass, layer fruit and yogurt. I only used two tablespoons of yogurt. Drizzle top with  honey (not needed if your fruit is sweet). Sprinkle with almonds and flaxseed.

Filling and satisfying.

In a vintage parfait glass, fancy and festive too!

Happy Friday

talya

Yum! That looks and sounds delicious! Great idea about the vintage parfait glass, too. That was this week’s Weight Watchers meeting’s advice. They suggested that we pay more attention to food’s appearance through the mixture of colours and textures as well as presentation using nice dishes and placemats. All this is important in making the food seem more special and memorable.

It is about the presentation sometimes!

This looks so good! Love that this is a parfait that me & my little lady can eat safely. We’re gluten free & it’s not easy finding safe granola. This is a great alternative.

I try to eat gluten free as well!
