Savoring February

SAVORING FEBRUARY…

Today is March 1. Ash Wednesday. The beginning of Lent. In the words of Dr. Seuss, how did it get so late so soon? I believe there’s value in taking a look back. If we aren’t mindful, it’s easy to forget to remember the good. And if you’ve followed me for any period of time, you know I chose SAVOR as my One Little Word for the year. I’m trying my best to savor each day. I crammed lots of good in February 2017.

Savor—to taste, smell, relish, delight in. Doing something slowly.

Savoring FLAVOR…

Savoring January 2017

Did you blink? Today is the last day of January! I’ve done my best throughout January to savor the moments. You may or may not know I chose SAVOR as my One Little Word for 2017. And I came up with several new recipes including an easy cauliflower soup I’m pretty excited about. Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll share the recipe on a later post. Simple and healthy, it has become my go-to sustenance for January.  Continue Reading

If you’re new to the One Little Word idea (the brainchild of blogger Ali Edwards), the essence of it is this: you choose one word and rally around it during the year. And there’s something magical about it. The power of suggestion. The power of the mind. Call it what you will, but for me, if I make a concentrated effort to center my thoughts around a word or an idea, that word plays an active role in my life. Sort of a “dream it and it will happen” thing.

One Little Word can lead to big things.

This will be my third year, third word, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.
