Sunday Letter

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

As I look back over the past two weeks, I realize I’ve been riding an emotional rollercoaster. Along with life events, even the weather has delivered a series of highs and lows. In a matter of hours we went from near 80 degrees to snowfall (!). A few days later,  tornado warnings covered our area as storms passed through. I’m sure the flora and fauna are weary too.

Isn’t this all part of gardening though?

All part of life?

Highs and lows make me more appreciative of the in-between days, the early mornings when I walk through the garden with a cup of coffee, the quiet nights spent lost inside a good book. How about you?

Sunday Letter

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

This Sunday Letter has a bit of a reptilian theme. Yes, the topics are a little out there. Where else can you read about Frog and Toad, Godzilla, and Chicken Piccata in the same place? Nowhere. I googled it.

This, of course, begs the question, “What do Godzilla and Frog and Toad eat? Chicken Piccata?” Ha. Not to my knowledge. There’s some talk on the interwebs that Godzilla once ate a Fiat, but the truth is, he spit it out. Godzilla feeds off radiation. Not Italian cars or Italian food.

And Frog and Toad? Well, any true fan knows these friends eat cookies.

Before pigweed and meth took root in our county, before tractors became smarter than people, when each town had a cotton gin and a courthouse square, vibrant and spirited, we were young.

Back then.
