Sunday Letter 02.28.2021

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

Last week was certainly a welcomed change from the prior week. Yay for seasonal temperatures and a bit of sunshine. Tomorrow we welcome March, and soon thereafter, spring.

I’m pretending spring has already sprung. Even with recent sub-zero temperatures, our daffodils and tulips and crocus are poking right through the soil. In another few weeks, winter will be a memory.

Yesterday, I pulled my three spring/Easter decorations from storage.

Sunday Letter 02.21.2021

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

What a week, right? Lots of snow across the country, the entire state of Arkansas buried under record snowfall amounts. Many of my friends and family in Texas have been without power and water for days.

I swear I only wanted enough to fill my snow cream bowl.

Five things I discovered since last week’s Sunday Letter:

  1. my fascination with snow greatly diminishes after four inches and/or four days;
  2. -20˚ is stupid cold;
  3. the forecasting skills of the groundhog are highly underrated;
  4. Texas isn’t quite ready to secede from the Union; and,
  5. in January when you order Girl Scout cookies, you should ALWAYS triple your order just in case.Continue Reading

Happy Labor Day weekend to my Sunday Letter readers.

This year at our house, Labor Day weekend looks like any other weekend. Maybe you have something entertaining on your agenda? If so, please share in the comments so we can all join you. Virtually of course.

Often during this strange year, I’ve longed to be traveling someplace, someplace with a beach or lake or even a swimming hole, someplace different from today’s normal. Back to yesteryear or ahead to a time when life is more settled. Other times, most times, I’m extremely grateful to live in a comfortable home in a safe community, coexisting with both nature and kind people who are trying to change things for the better. Continue Reading
