Dear Sunday Letter friends,

I’ve driven across Arkansas the past few days, and I can report that harvest is in full swing back home in my northeastern corner of the state. Watching combines cutting rice, seeing cornfields ready for harvest, and walking through fields of cotton with bolls beginning to open—I never miss a chance to return home to the farm.Continue Reading

Good morning to all you fabulous readers out there. Today is already the 7th of September, and I’m just now posting my book reviews for August. Anyhoo, I read most of these books during the first half of the month when I was recouping from surgery. Then during the last half of the month I did very little reading as I was buried beneath final Bernice Runs Away tweaks. (A great way to be buried though!)

My book reviews here are a bit mixed (as are the genres). Two were library books, one was an Audible book, and three were loaned/referred to me by friends/family. What is your favorite book format? I ponder this quite a bit as I prepare to send Bernice into the world…

Sunday Letter 09.04.22

Dear Sunday Letter friends,

Are you as excited as I am that September is here? I treasure the change of seasons, and yes I’m counting down to the first day of fall. Nineteen days!

I’m also counting down to Bernice Runs Away which launches on October 1. Twenty-seven days!

You know what Gracie Lee Eudora Abbott would do? She would make a construction paper chain to count down to both of these important dates.

Maybe I will too.

Honestly, I can’t believe my next book is almost here. Sometimes this writing and editing and publishing endeavor smothers me, feeling like such an impossible, exhausting thing,  and then—💥—it all comes together as it should. Not without a little hair pulling and a lot of second guessing, mind you.
