It had been over a year since Lucy and Annabelle visited Dallas, but they traveled back for Christmas. Oh, there’s nothing quite like a holiday road trip, and the girls know when they queue into their crates, an adventure awaits. An adventure greater than a schnauzer hair appointment a short trip to the veterinarian. Thankfully, our trip was uneventful, and Annabelle didn’t get carsick (which sometimes she does). They snoozed all the way through Oklahoma, I managed to drive the speed limit, and we didn’t stop until we crossed the Red River into Texas.

I don’t travel to New York very often, and in between trips it’s easy to forget the sheer massiveness of it all, the pulsating energy, the throngs of people, the noise. I wonder what it must be like for New Yorkers, to actually “be” from New York. Where do they go to be impressed by a skyline. Is that even possible? If New Yorkers vacation in the country or at the beach, do they long for all the concrete? Because I get antsy without stars and fresh air and wide open space.
I have lots to share with you about our New York trip—more than one post worth—but as I look back through all the pictures I took, I realize I snapped lots of tree shots. All sorts of New York trees.
I suppose that’s not surprising for anyone who knows me.Continue Reading
Angels in the Fields of Arkansas
It takes me forever to drive anywhere in Arkansas because I have to take the scenic route. And when I come upon an old cemetery, I pull over and take pictures. There are so many angels in the fields of the Arkansas Delta.
Just outside the city of Wilson, this small cemetery has always drawn my eye toward the cotton field. Finally, I stopped, walked through the field, and took a closer look.
