I survivedย my first week ofย National Blog Post Month (NaBloPoMo- a post a day in November), but since today’s Sunday, and I don’t typically post on Sunday, I’m keeping it simple. Easy like Sunday morning…
Sunday should be simple, don’t you agree?ย Here are a few of the simple pleasures I’ve enjoyed this past week.
A storm complete with rolling thunder and flashes of lightning. Good sleeping weather!
Chilly nights withย fires in our outdoorย fire pit.
Arsaga’s salted maple caramel cafe au lait. Oooh, I got one of these at the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market on Saturday. Delicious.
Arkansas black apples. Myย favorites, and they’re in season. These were grown in Harrison.
A good read. I just started Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin. His first sentence is an attention grabber. Has anyone read it?
A weekend spent with good friends from Dallas.
And how about that thrillingย Razorback win!!! Oh yeah. #Uncommon for sure.

A few of my simple things this week: A movie with my granddaughter, a new flavor ice cream at my favorite ice cream parlor, Cold Stone Creamery, a Razorback win (what a game), and a hot cup of coffee. Oh yes, I have started a new book, GOOD NIGHT, MR. WODEHOUSE by Faith Sullivan. I took the Debra Caudle’s Trust Fall Challenge.and bought this book, sight unseen, from That Bookstore in Blytheville. It’s gonna be a good one. (By the way, the ice cream had pretzels, chocolate, and caramel, absolutely sinful. This was the first time I have been to the Creamery in a month. I was celebrating the Hogs’ win. Lol)
“Simple Sunday” I like that. This week for me:
Sitting on a log watching the river flow.
Seeing a Belted Kingfisher and a couple of trophy sized bucks.
Receiving notification that I would be receiving a grant I applied for, for my favorite charity.
Finishing ‘All the Stars in the Heavens’ by Adriana Trigiani (good), and starting ‘After You’ by Jojo Moyes, a sequel to one of the best books I have ever read (Me Before You).
Taking a walk in the woods.
Having nice telephone visits with my daughters.
It doesn’t take much!
Oh, and reading a blog everyday!
I like blogs every day too.
I’m still enjoying the fall leaves, the weather and my first 4 wheeler ride!
Love the concept of Simple Sunday. I always start Sundays with a celebration — singing praises in worship with like-minded believers then studying God’s Word in a SS class with other scripture seekers. Love watching the colors of fall especially ginkgos and maples. Fantastic!

My Sunday was pretty simple, too. I spent part of it thinking about the quiet getaway I had with childhood friends, the way the crepe myrtle is showing out with their fall colors, lunch with classmates on Saturday, talking with Maria on her birthday, seeing sunshine out my kitchen window, the warmth of kitties snuggled up close, catching up with friends at lunch and a little yard work.
Hey, you’re killing me here…what’s the first line of Crooked Letter. I’m stuck in a campground with no vehicle.
Sitting on the sand on the beach watching the powerful waves slam the beach……. Know vacation is over but knowing I’m going to see my dogs Bella and Bayley. Knowing what a wonderful week with my daughter. I found 5 tiny sand dollars(dime, penny, nickel, and quarter size). Knowing there was no reason that they should have survived those pounding waves! Gloriously Simple…….
