If only this post came with 3-D vision andย a smell plug-in. No kidding, thisย place I live is park-like. I’m under the influence of spring and savoring every moment. Come with me and see for yourself. I took these pictures via iPhone while walking Lucy and Annabelle. The colors are unretouched.
You might say, oh no, here she goes again, all she does is post pictures of flowers. So yeah, that’s true for now, and isn’t it wonderful?ย If that’s not your thing, well… sorry (#notsorryintheleastย #whatswrongwithyou).
Ourย neighborhood is alive and vivid and every bloom is a thrillย to the senses.
Phlox spills over old stone walls. Tulips thriveย in slivers of soil.
I’m a kid in a candy store.
Until weย moved to Fayetteville, I never knew that tulips couldย beย perennial.ย What an amazing thing. I’m certain tulipsย NEVERย came back in Dallas. (Read what A Green Hand has to say about planting bulbs for a more natural garden HERE.)
I plan to luxuriate inย every drop of spring. Soon, summer will come bringingย long hot days, warm nights andย blooms that thrive only inย the heat. And I’ll like that too, but it will be different.

Thanks for sharing your walk with me! I enjoyed Smith’s article. I think I will try some tulips in Kansas. I didn’t get reblooms in TX and stopped trying them, but my mother-in-law was always so confused about why the blubs that rebloomed for her in KS, that she shared with me, wouldn’t rebloom for me. Maybe Smith answered that mystery.

Lovely! Don’t stop taking pictures of flowers. Don’t stop taking pictures, period! P. Allen Smith knows his/her stuff. I cannot have tulips because of the deer, but so far, they have not bothered my daffodils. I love that quote by A.A. Milne.

I won’t! Thanks Colene.

Never apologize for those beautiful pictures! I’m starved for spring, we’ve had a rough winter, so I’m still waiting for color here.

I hope Spring arrives soon for you!
