Sometimes the simplest pleasures involve accomplishing tasks around the house and checking off To-Do list items. Like finally installing our newย mailbox.ย I’m not sure why this house had no mailbox whatsoever, but I LOVEย our new one from Moda Industria. ย It’s a work of artย โฃ
And two months after moving, we installed our porch swing. Yay!
Afterย several quietย days of uninterrupted writing and editing time, Friday marked the kickoff ofย Lights of the Ozarks around the Fayetteville Square. Since before Halloween, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation employeesย have been hard at work installing more than half a millionย twinkle lights. Twinkle lights make me happy. And who doesn’t love an old-fashioned Christmas parade?
Althoughย the weekend turnedย stormy with rolling thunder and steady rainโnot ideal for the last Razorback home game (another shutout!!)โit wasย peaceful nonetheless. John whipped upย one of his fantastic frittatas on Saturday morning, and we spent the day in front of the fire, reading and watching football between naps. My Baylor Bears won too:)
Here’s wishing you a peaceful, productive week and a Happy Thanksgiving!

“Simple things” is a relative term depending on who’s doing the “things.” Your house/porch/view of street is wonderful. BTW, did John retire or change venues? xoxo
True. I’m sure the person hanging the swing didn’t consider it a simple pleasure, but this isn’t written from his point of view:) John’s job has not changed. Since he travels so much with his job, it isn’t that big a deal where we live.
I am enjoying the nice piano piece as I type this comment. We love the mailbox and the swing and all things about your house. We are lucky to have enjoyed the simple pleasure of seeing the Fayetteville lights and the parade in the past. They are beautiful! Your pictures are nice too!
So glad you got your swing up, and I love your mailbox. Simple pleasures are the best.
