Yesterday our moving company (Bekins) sent a crew over to “prep” for our move. And to pack our kitchen. I decided it would be best to leave our breakables (all those egg dishes) to the professionals. And man alive,ย THEY WERE AMAZING.
Silly me. I thought they would only pack up dishes. No. They wrappedย every single can of beans and tomato sauce individually.ย I had no idea.
These guys had some mean packing skills.
In the past few days, I’ve packed most everything else. The house echoes the emptiness.
Ourย truckย did a drive by yesterday to make sure it could clear the thick canopy of Live Oaks shadingย Worth Street. Thankfully, it did. And the truck is my favorite color, so there’s that. (It’s the little things.)
This morning our house is a maze of boxes. The guys and the truck will be back soon to load everything. What a strange feeling. Strange yet exciting.
I’ll see you on the other side. The Arkansas side, that is!

Just keep out of their way, they are super efficient loading too! I totally get your excitement and am happy for you!

Thanks Debby!
Betsy Hults says
The house still looks terrific, boxes and all! Say good bye to it for us…
Talya Tate Boerner says
I will! You’ll have to come visit us in Fayetteville, Betsy.
JoAnn says

Love the moving pictures!
Meet you in Arkansas!

Deal.
Gary Henderson says
You’re lucky they’re packing your food! The company I used refused outright to pack any of my food. Of course, that didn’t stop them from packing a bear of honey and a sack of potatoes before deciding this.
The honey broke all over everything else in that box (luckily all dishes and such). The potatoes . . . well. Let’s just say that you shouldn’t leave any boxes unpacked for, say, four months. Just in case.
Talya Tate Boerner says
Oh my goodness Gary!
They only packed canned goods and unopened items. So nothing like half used honey bears or flour. No potatoes either. At least I don’t think so…
Colene and Tom says
Happy trails! Hope to see you soon!
Dorothy Johnson says
I know this is bittersweet because of they way you love that house. But we are all so happy that you are coming home to Arkansas!
Talya Tate Boerner says
Yes Dorothy, but the more we move from the house, the less it feels like our house. Our new (old) house will feel like home in no time. At least I hope so!
Mary Hill says
Wow what a lot of changes since I last stopped by. I guess if i ever get to Arkansas i will stop by there now instead of Texas. We are hoping to move one day too, but we are going to stay in our home town in upstate SC. We just want to buy some acres and a small house.
Talya Tate Boerner says
Yes come see me Mary. SC sounds like a place to stay:)
Rachel Allison says
I was gone most of the day and came home to see the Big Green Egg sitting by the moving truck and got very, very teary. Worth Street won’t be the same without you two. I’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to give you both a hug before you left! Many blessings and wonderful adventures in Arkansas; they’re lucky to have you!!
