Lucy and Annabelle go to Mt. Sequoyah

On a hot July morning, Lucy, Annabelle and I hiked around breathtaking Mt. Sequoyah, (located in Washington County, Arkansas for those of you living in other parts of the country/world). We took tennis balls for fetching and cold water for drinking, and although we did our exploring early, the air felt thick and blanket-heavy, more like Beaumont, Texas than Northwest Arkansas.

a simple Lavender Nosegay

Nosegay is one of those silly sounding words that back in seventh grade would have given my best friend and me the extreme giggles. During those Keiser Junior High days, everything was extraordinarily hilarious and something as simple as a funny word (such as nosegay) would often push us over the edge earning us a trip to the principal’s office for classroom disruption.
