Fox Trot Boutique, Fayetteville, ArFox Trot Boutique is such an exciting find, y’all! Owner, Carly Rae Overbey, hails from Kentucky and grew up in retail. Her family opened “a store” in 1955 that has evolved into a fine home and garden destination on the banks of the Rockcastle River.  After graduating from University of Kentucky with a degree in Fiber Arts and Textiles, Carly worked five years for J. Peterman Company. (Yes, J. Peterman Company is real and not just a Seinfeld thing.) A position with mega-retailer, Walmart, brought Carly to Northwest Arkansas, but after two years, she was ready to get back to a smaller, local business environment. She opened Fox Trot about a year ago.

Coneflowers rank right up there with black-eyed Susans as my favorite native summer flowers. I planted six coneflower plants in our new front bed this past spring. As the flowers have begun to dry on the stalks, I’ve been snipping some of the heads and leaving them in the bed to multiply.
