Book Reviews: June 2018

June 2018 Book Reviews

Book Reviews June 2018:

I can’t believe June is over! I did lots of traveling in June which means a couple of these books were audio versions. Also, I went to the lake. I always read 2-3 books (sometimes 4) at the lake. Did you watch The Great American Read a few weeks ago on PBS? Because of that fantastic show, I am determined to read more of the 100 most recommended books on the PBS list  (i.e. A Confederacy of Dunces).Continue Reading

Book Reviews May 2018

This may be the most compelling group of books I’ve read in one month. I listened to The Woman in the Window and Educated via Hoopla (audio books through the library). I rushed out and purchased hardbacks of both The Great Alone and Varina because the authors of these new releases wrote two of my all-time favorite books—The Nightingale and Cold Mountain. Talking to the Trees was an unexpected gem by a local Arkansas author.

Gracie Lee on Arts & Letters!

May 24, 2018 By Talya Tate Boerner

THIS FRIDAY (May 25 at 7:00 p.m. CST), the show I taped in January in Little Rock goes LIVE on NPR’s Arts & Letters.

That’s tomorrow, y’all!

This is such a huge thing for me. And I’d love for you to listen. After all, YOU helped make this happen by being so supporting of The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee. You’ve told your friends about the book, invited me to your book clubs, written Amazon & Goodreads reviews, and basically inspired me to keep plugging away at this writing thing.

Arts & Letters

If you’ve never heard an Arts & Letters show, get ready for a treat. The show is produced by professor Brad Minnick of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is part of KUAR public radio. Arts & Letters highlights arts, humanities, and social sciences, something the world needs more of in spades. Right?

No kidding, the talent generated from such a tiny, rather nondescript studio is absolutely incredible. I witnessed it for myself. I hear it with each episode.

To have my story showcased on Arts & Letters is an honor on par with the first time I saw my book on the shelf at Barnes & Noble or the Fayetteville Public Library.

It’s a pinch-me sort of crazy feeling.Continue Reading
